Databases — By Pedro on January 26, 2010 at 09:50

Aluselect is a computer-based reference database containing technical information on the most widely used aluminum alloys. This free online database allows the user to search and get information about the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of aluminum alloys.

It was designed to offer mainly technical information about aluminum, it does not contain any data about visual properties, and unfortunately, it does not have any picture for inspiration.

Nevertheless, it has a simple interface and good usability, and provides a simple and effective experience. And, above all, it solves selection problems for those who want to select aluminum alloys.

It is a representative within this conceptual model of databases containing information on a single class of material.

It allows many research alternatives, with a glossary and correspondence between the different technical names for the same alloy.

The Aluselect website was designed as an information source. For more specifications and engineering requirements, the user should consult the supplier information.

The Portal was developed by the European Aluminum Association, University of Liverpool and the MATTER Project (Consortium, Department of Materials Science of the University of Liverpool, Great Britain).

Method of use:

The database is free.

Materials in the database:

At present, 35 wrought alloys and 12 casting alloys are indexed. The database contains wrought aluminum alloys and molten aluminum alloys.
