Pacheco has died two years ago, Jorge Manuel Pacheco (09-09-1941 # 09-02-2010).
Before there were design courses in Portugal, training was often made abroad as with Jorge Pacheco, who completed the course in tridimensional Design at the Ravensbourne School of Art and Design, London. He worked with Douglas Scott and from 1974 to 1976 in the PIC Environmental Design.

Professor of Design and Technology Equipment since 1977  in the Fine Arts of Lisbon and later in 1988 at ESAD in Caldas da Rainha teaches students has no one about materials and technologies related to design, including the complexity of projecting polymer materials. Pacheco was a functionalist designer, established a design studio since 1980, during his activity as a designer was the author of multiple projects of Industrial Design, both in England and in Portugal, working for various brands such as Bell & Howell; CENTREL AEP; Chloride Shires; Marconi International; Mitzubishi; said, among other. He also worked on projects of urban furniture (shelters, benches and litter bins).
He was also vice-president of  the Portuguese Association of  Design e Reabilitation (APDR).
Name unavoidable in Portuguese Design, he  contributed for the affirmation and dignity of design in Portugal.

He also was an excellent teacher, as no one, he knew the materials and the different technologies, perhaps the best design teacher that I ever had.

In my opinion Jorge Pacheco never had the tribute that should have had.
